Tourists love going on camel rides in Lanzarote. It’s surely one of the most iconic images of tourism on the island, and it can be seen on any website, brochure or travel catalogue about this volcanic gem within the Canary archipelago. Indeed, if you are preparing to travel to Lanzarote, of course we will make it easy for you to be the protagonist of that iconic camel ride, surrounded by the volcanoes of Timanfaya.
In fact, within our different guided excursions to Timanfaya National Park, we have included the possibility of going on a camel ride. Of course, riding on their backs allows you to see these landscapes in a different way, from an elevated perspective overlooking the terrain, which transforms everything into a different place. The sensations that this activity provokes are hard to forget, both for the beauty of this territory and for the rhythmic motion of the ride.
You surely have many questions regarding the location, difficulty, price or timetable for these camel rides in Lanzarote. Well, we can give you some information: the activity takes place in Yaiza, in the southern part of the island, and it lasts for about 20 to 25 minutes. But as for how fun it is, we will direct you to the comments and opinions of travellers who have previously hired our services in order to do these activities or excursions in Lanzarote. Read what they have to say about the camel rides near the Mountains of Fire, and you’re sure to be excited about having your turn.
Although this activity takes place in the southernmost area of Lanzarote and your hotel is located far away, you don’t need to worry. Our guided excursions that include entrance to Timanfaya National Park and the opportunity to ride a camel also include hotel pick-up in Arrecife, Playa Blanca, Costa Teguise or Puerto del Carmen.
Our experience, as well as that of people who have already taken part in this activity, tells us that it’s the most fun activity to do with your family or group of friends. Also, it is unforgettable as a romantic trip with your partner. Also, if you are travelling alone you have an extraordinary opportunity to meet people, since the atmosphere during the ride is one of the most relaxed and animated.
In any form, the guided visit to Timanfaya or the bus trip along Volcano Road is the ideal complement to these camel rides. It is a unique way to appreciate the scenery, which appears to be totally hostile and yet is strangely beautiful, wild and stark, which provokes admiration and daydreams in equal parts. And of course the wealth of sensations experienced while contemplating Lanzarote’s Mountains of Fire is amplified if you glimpse it from the back of a camel, whose tranquil pace will make you feel like a true adventurer searching for new and unexplored lands.

Tour Reviews
Great tour. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Lanzarote
Quite different. I went with my husband and even though we’d already been to Timanfaya National Park we wanted to have some adventures and get to see the island and this tour was perfect for that. It was definitely worth it. Thank you.
Fantastic jeep safari. We saw impressive places, rode a camel and even bathed in Papagayos beach. What else can you ask for in a day?
Unforgettable. The guide and route were fantastic. We loved the tour.
Fun. Luis was our guide and thanks to him we enjoyed and laughed a lot throughout the tour.
Unbeatable. The green lake is out of this world, unbelievable that I was there. Same with Jameos del Agua and the other areas we visited. I will never forget it!
A short but unforgettable holiday. It’s the first time that I’ve visited Lanzarote and I will definitely return. I was there for just a few days but it was very nice to visit the important places and to get a general overview of Lanzarote.
Low Cost tours are great. I have never been to a more amazing island.
Keep in mind that when you arrive at Jameos, you have to choose or enter there or at the Verdes cave, one or the other. I chose Jameos because I already knew what I would see more or less but it’s a shame to not be able to visit the cave and learn more about it.
It’s amazing, the entire island is surrounded by white houses and palm trees on all sides. I enjoyed seeing the scenery both on foot and by bus. There is never a moment when you lose view of the sea.
I don’t think I could have taken another photo, the memory was practically full. The views of the green pool and of the hot springs that we were able to enjoy were amazing.
A great way to spend a day with the family. My partner and I were delighted to see the natural works of art that the island’s own volcano has produced, and our son was delighted with the camel ride. We are very happy.
There are some landscapes that I don’t think can be seen anywhere else in the world. I was dumbfounded by these natural wonders.
There is no corner of Lanzarote that doesn’t have something interesting to see. It was a fabulous day and in good company.
The pool overwhelmed me, haha. I had seen it in some other Spanish film, but in person it is amazing. You have to learn about its origin to really understand it.
Essential. The National Park is spectacular and the Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes are marvels.
Wonderful. The three places impressed me, I don’t know which one I liked most because they were all spectacular.
Impressive. We loved the three places.
Essential excursion. If you go to Lanzarote it’s obligatory to do this excursion in order to get to know these three emblematic places on the island.
Good excursion. All of the visits were spectacular but we would have liked to go camel riding in Timanfaya.
