Lanzarote tour to Cueva de los Verdes, Mirador del Río, Jardín de Cactus, Lagomar and more.

On this excursion, discover the most emblematic places in the north of Lanzarote comfortably and while avoiding the long queues at some of the places we’ll visit.

This excursion is ideal if you already know the Timanfaya National Park or to combine it with any of the excursions that go to the park: the Grand Tour, the South Tour or the Timanfaya tour.

Our first stop allows us to get to know the Monumento al Campesino (Monument to the Peasant), the first great work of Cesar Manrique that we will see during the excursion. This monument, located in the geographic centre of the island, is an homage to the island’s peasants. Within it, a dog, a camel and a peasant are represented in abstract forms.

Monumento al campesinoWe will continue our route by visiting another work designed by César Manrique: Lagomar House. This house, which was owned by the actor Omar Sharif, is one of the island’s most impressive residences, since it is embedded in a mountain quarry.

Casa Lagomar

As the story goes, the actor Omar Sharif (famous for his role as Doctor Zhivago) was in Lanzarote filming The Mysterious Island. On one of his trips around Lanzarote, he discovered this house and fell completely in love with it, so much so that he bought it. However, only a day later, he used it as a wager while playing cards and lost it. That did not prevent it from being known thereafter as the Omar Sharif House, also known as Lagomar House.

LagomarWe will resume the excursion by visiting the Mirador del Río (River Lookout), the best place to contemplate the Chinijo archipelago, which includes the islands of La Graciosa, Alegranza, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste. It is a lookout that Manrique constructed in the year 1974 and is about 475 metres high, blending in completely with its surroundings. The views and its very construction are amazing, so it is not strange that it is often included on top ten lists for the best lookouts in the world.

Our next stop will be a Cueva de los Verdes Tour to visit the Green Cave, an enclave that arose after the eruption of the Corona Volcano, and where we offer you a tour of approximately 1 kilometre through the interior of this volcanic tunnel.

Galería de la Cueva de Los Verdes

The Green Cave gives off a mysterious vibe, with secrets that you can only discover by entering it with us on this underground journey. Although with that said, if you suffer from claustrophobia or have mobility problems, we recommend you do not enter, since when all is said and done, it is an underground walk over very rough and uneven terrain.
