- We guarantee a personalized treatment. You can contact us every day of the year from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Do the Timanfaya excursions include the camel ride?
The camel ride is optional in almost all the Timanfaya tours. Please read each route’s information carefully to find out if the camel riding option is included in the excursion.
- What clothes should I wear to Timanfaya?
The best option is to wear closed shoes and comfortable clothing.
- How can I visit Timanfaya? Where is it and how do I get there?
You can visit the Park on your own or on an organized tour. The National Park is in the southwest center of Lanzarote and extends for more than 51 square km, although the park visit really focuses on the Islote de Hilario, the camel ride and the volcano route.
- How to choose my Timanfaya tour?
The Timanfaya excursions differ due to the other sites you’ll visit, along with the park. Also, you should check if it offers to option of riding a camel on the route since, even though it’s optional, not all tours stop to do this activity. In any case, look for the other points of interest, in addition to Timanfaya, that you want to visit on your excursion, these may include Jameos del Agua, Cueva de los Verdes, Charco de los Clicos, La Geria, Los Hervideros or Las Salinas.
- Should I do an organized excursion to Timanfaya or go on my own?
The great advantage over self-guided excursions is that in the organized ones you don’t have to wait in the long queues, which can last for up to 3 hours, to enter the park or to take the bus to do the “volcano route”. In addition, the organized visits offer an official guide who will give you information throughout the park route and in Lanzarote. You’ll only have to worry about being at the meeting point at the agreed time. And if you also intend to visit other places such as the Jameos del Agua or the Cueva de los Verdes, you won’t have to queue at the entrance to visit these tourist centers either.
- How long does the visit to Timanfaya last?
The time from when we enter the National Park to when we leave is approximately 1.5 hours, and this includes the time to see the experiments, do the Volcano Route, enjoy the Islote de Hilario views and visit The Devil’s Restaurant. If you do the tour with the camel ride, you should add another 30-50 minutes to the itinerary.

Timanfaya was declared a National Park in 1974, and remains the only one with such designation among the different islands of Las Palmas.
But experiencing the activity of this volcanic system is the main attraction for a visit to Timanfaya, without forgetting the undoubtable scenic attraction of its rocky, stark, rugged and sometimes moon-like landscapes.

Disappointing. We loved the experience in Timanfaya and the guide was very kind, but we were among the first clients to be picked up by the bus, so we had to wait a lot as we picked up the other clients.
Spectacular. Visiting these places with a guide makes you appreciate them and get to know them better and more comfortably than doing the excursion on your own.
Lovely places. Throughout the tour we saw the effect of the volcanoes on the island, with the creation of places as impactful as Timanfaya, Geria and the Laguna Verde.
A great way to tour the island if you are going for the first time. For me it was the second, but I was accompanied by my son who had never been. He ended up very happy.
Surprising. We didn’t expect that the volcanic activity would impress us so much in all of the manifestations that we could see during the tour. It was great.
We liked it a lot. The volcanic landscape that manifested throughout the entire route is impressive, nothing like any other site that I know. Worthwhile.

I think it’s the best if you are in Lanzarote for a short amount of time. In just one day practically everything can be seen, or more or less the most characteristic of the island.
Can’t miss it. Full of surprises and architectural beauty on all sides. I won’t hesitate to recommend it to my friends.
Unforgettable places in Lanzarote. If you already know La Cueva de los Verdes, Los Jameos del Agua and other places created by Cesar Manrique, you should do this excursion in order to get to know the rest of the island’s highlights.
