If you are arriving in Lanzarote on a cruise, you should not miss the opportunity to discover our island. Lanzarote is a true open-air theme park, offering breathtaking natural landscapes, from black sand beaches to dramatic cliffs and volcanic formations that will leave you speechless. It is also well worth exploring its rich cultural heritage, with the works of the renowned local artist César Manrique transforming the island into a stunning work of art. Enjoy the delicious local cuisine, browse traditional markets and explore charming villages. And of course, before leaving Lanzarote, be sure to visit Timanfaya National Park, the island’s main attraction.
Here are 4 reasons why it is worth booking an excursion with OkLanzarote instead of through your cruise line:
Price: we offer tours at a lower price than cruise lines, as our operating costs allow us to work with much lower prices compared to the high structural costs of cruise companies.
Authenticity: we provide a more authentic and in-depth experience, thanks to our extensive knowledge of and passion for the culture and history of our island.
Expert knowledge: our official tour guides are experts in Lanzarote and offer deeper insight into the destination, its culture, history and traditions.
Local recommendations: we can recommend local restaurants, shops and attractions that are not included in standard cruise line excursions.
To enjoy a pleasant experience on our tours, please make sure that the tour schedules match your cruise stop in Lanzarote, so you can return to the ship on time and avoid the risk of missing departure. OkLanzarote and its partners are not responsible for any incidents during the tour or for any other reason that may cause you to arrive late for the ship’s departure.
Cruise excursions in Lanzarote are limited by the time spent on the island. We offer excursions with pick-up service in Arrecife. For bus excursions, pick-up is at 8:30 a.m. at the Arrecife Fairground, about 15 minutes from the port by taxi. For buggy tours, pick-up is just a few metres from the port, and the pick-up time and tour schedule vary depending on the day of departure (please contact us before booking this excursion).
For private excursions, schedules can be further adapted, but they are only recommended for groups of more than 30 people.
In Lanzarote, cruise ships usually dock at one of two ports when arriving in Arrecife:
For coach excursions, the pick-up point is at 8:30 a.m. at the Arrecife Fairground, about 15 minutes by taxi from the ports. For buggy tours, the pick-up point is very close to the ports, and the time varies depending on your booking.
The main attraction of Lanzarote, the visit to Timanfaya National Park, is guaranteed on cruise excursions. In addition, by booking these tours you will avoid the long queues to access the park, which can reach up to 3 hours during high season.
Most major cruise companies that regularly visit Lanzarote, such as Aida Cruises, Croisi Europe, Phoenix Reisen GmbH, TUI Cruises, Marella Cruises Ltd., Mystic Cruises S.A., Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, Costa Crociere, Oceania Cruises Inc., MSC Cruises or Royal Caribbean Group, include port-of-call information on the cruise ticket, which is all you need to book your excursion.
Compare prices and itineraries and decide which excursion best suits you and where it is best to book.
It’s impossible for me to choose one thing that has stuck with me from what I’ve seen. Everything is worthwhile, it’s quite a thorough route.
The best tour of Lanzarote that can be taken. Many thanks to the team and the guide, who was quite friendly throughout the entire day.
I would have preferred taking the time spent on the camel ride to keep enjoying other views. The time was adjusted somewhat and the guide hurried us along a couple times when we were taking photos.
Good tour. Everything was great but I can’t give it a 5-star rating because I think the buggies weren’t clean as they’ve been out so much
A very cool and nice guide on the bus. He made the entire group laugh with him. It made for a very pleasant day.
Disappointing. We loved the experience in Timanfaya and the guide was very kind, but we were among the first clients to be picked up by the bus, so we had to wait a lot as we picked up the other clients.

Improvable. I’ve done buggy tours in other places and the best thing about this tour was the staff, the buggies and the route. The worst thing was that we got on some buggies that weren’t very clean and we had to stop during the tour to refuel.
Lovely places. Throughout the tour we saw the effect of the volcanoes on the island, with the creation of places as impactful as Timanfaya, Geria and the Laguna Verde.
I consider this a very thorough tour. It’s definitely worth it for the visit to Jameos and to Timanfaya Park. In the next few days I’m staying only to spend time on the north island, which they say is spectacular.
