Excursion to Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes (the Green Caves)

Discover in a single morning, without waiting in long queues and with an official guide, two of Lanzarote’s three main tourist attractions: Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes (the Green Caves).

Cueva de los Verdes Lanzarote

This tour is the perfect complement if you have already taken a trip to Timanfaya National Park.

The first stop of the tour will be at the Nieves Viewpoint, the highest point in Lanzarote. From the viewpoint, admire Famara Beach and the Chinijo archipelago, formed by the islets of La Graciosa, Roque del Este, Roque del Oeste, and Alegranza.

Mirador de las Nieves

During our journey to the two main gems of the tour, observe the Corona Volcano, whose eruption over 4000 years ago led to the volcanic tubes that formed Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes.

Volcán de la Corona - Corona volcano

While on the route, also enjoy magnificent views of the Valley of a Thousand Palms and the town of Haria.

Valle de las mil palmeras

In our visit to Cueva de los Verdes, we will explore the most visible area of this great volcanic tube, which is more than 8 km long. We will cross approximately 1 km of galleries up to 50 meters high, that are interconnected and superimposed.

Cueva de los Verdes - Green Cave

We will not leave the Green Caves without revealing its great secret, a secret hidden in this image representing the cave. Like all great secrets, you will not be able to reveal it either.

Cueva de los Verdes

At Jameos del Agua, very close to Cueva de los Verdes, you will discover an extraordinary place, Lanzarote’s second great tourist attraction.

Jameos del Agua entrada

Nature and art merge in this place thanks to the creativity of the brilliant Lanzarote artist César Manrique, who transformed this natural space, located near the coast and below sea level, into a unique spot.

Jameos del Agua

The water of the interior lake formed in Jameo Grande comes from the sea, filtering until reaching the cave. Moreover, if you get close to the water, you will see some small albino and blind crabs, endemic to the cave, popularly known as “jameitos”.

The artificial pool is located outside, in an area covered with lava and volcanic stones, amidst large volcanic rock walls.

Jemeos piscina

At Jameos del Agua, thanks to the magnificent acoustics found inside the volcanic tube, you will also find a natural auditorium with a capacity for more than 500 people.

Jameos Auditorium

Jameos del Agua will be the ideal place to end our tour. We hope that, upon returning to your accommodation after a morning full of experiences and extraordinary sites, you will leave feeling like you enjoyed two of the most interesting and spectacular places in the world.
